How to Bleach
Before you begin: Read the enclosed instructions completely. Always perform both a patch test and a strand test before full application.
Patch Test
Prepare a small amount of the bleach mixture according to the enclosed instructions. Apply as directed in the kit instructions and monitor for a reaction. Do not use the product if irritation occurs.
Strand Test
Apply the prepared mixture to a small, hidden section of hair. Monitor the strand to evaluate processing time, lift, and hair condition before proceeding with full application.
Application Steps

Put on the enclosed gloves and work in a well-ventilated area.
Mix the bleach powder and 40 Volume Cream Developer exactly as directed in the enclosed instructions.
Divide dry, unwashed hair into manageable sections.
Apply the mixture evenly while avoiding direct contact with the scalp.
Monitor hair throughout processing and never exceed the recommended processing time.
Rinse thoroughly with lukewarm water until the bleach mixture is completely removed.
Shampoo thoroughly with Prepare to Dye® Clarifying Shampoo to help remove residue and prepare hair for color.
Rinse again and assess your hair level before toning or applying Manic Panic® semi-permanent hair color.
Always follow the complete directions, warnings, and safety information enclosed with your kit.
How Many Kits Do I Need?
Short Hair — up to 4 inches: 1 kit
Medium-Length Hair — 5 to 11 inches: 2 kits
Long Hair — 12 inches or longer: 3 or more kits
Hair thickness and density may affect how much product is needed. For complete, even saturation, it is better to have an extra hair bleach kit available than to run out during application.
