Hand-forged from two hardened carbon steels—XC130 and XC100—its blade layers are meticulously welded at precise temperatures using advanced powder metallurgical Damasteel. This process involves rippling, pressing, and sintering two types of high-carbon steel powders, resulting in a finely structured material with significantly higher carbide content than traditionally made steel.

Thiers Issard was founded in 1884 by Pierre Thiers, a skillful blacksmith known for exceptional handheld blades. The family business continued through Pierre’s wife and sons well into the 20th century, and the handmade blades are still produced in central France today. Thiers Issard stands by its product, offering repair, resharpening, and renovation of its products. This, and all Thiers Issard blades, will certainly stand the test of time.
